Our next gathering will be Sunday January 29th after the 11 o’clock service.   We will be meeting in the Upper Room at First United Methodist Church. Please bring a covered dish to share along with your table service.  Keep in mind we will be in the Upper Room so we will not have easy access to the kitchen and its amenities.

Please put the above dates on your calendar and plan to attend the candlelight’s for the Pilgrims.  From our community; Faith Myers, Barbara Eyerly, Karen Dwyer, Sherrie Smith, Christine King, and Xan Logan are serving on the team. We are in need of some food list items and prayer warriors.  If you can help please call Christine.   Please have all agape, letters and food items to the FUMC office by 11 am on February 2nd or get them to a team member.  Thank you very much!   

 

David Kirk, Chris Dwyer, Chris Gourdie, David Countryman, and Gary Logan are serving on the March men’s team. Todd & Nicole Kellogg will be attending their weekends in March.  Please let us know if you are aware of any other pilgrims.

 

Note to those who would like to work a team:  If you have sent in an application to work a team this past year. The apps are not carried over from year to year so if you would like to work a team this year, send in your applications now. The apps are on the website.

 

 

CHRYSALIS NEWS


Chrysalis weekends are held at the Youth Camp in Leesburg and we ask for your support in prayer (sign up on the website), agape (65 pieces needed per walk) and presence (sendoff is 8:00 Friday morning; candlelight 7:30pm Sat. night and Closing is at 3:30 Sunday afternoon). Please get your favorite teenagers signed up now.  Applications, sponsorship forms and don’t forget the emergency forms are all available on the website. 

The high school Girl's walk is March 24 -26, 2006 and then the Boy's walk is March 31- April 2, 2006.    Brendon and Sean Myers will be working the boy’s chrysalis team. They are still in need of team members if you can serve.

 

Any high school student aged 15--18 who has committed themselves to Christ, is welcome to attend Chrysalis Flight. Any college aged young adult aged 18 - 25 who has committed themselves to Christ is welcome to attend Chrysalis Journey. Any adult who has been through the Walk to Emmaus (or similar approved program) or any youth who has been through Chrysalis can sponsor a youth to attend.
Statistics show that 80% of Christian adults became Christians BEFORE age 18. In this world of confusion, our Christian teens are attacked on all sides by non-Christian values and negative influences.

 

Give the teen you love the opportunity to experience the love of Christ and the joy of Christian fellowship on a Chrysalis weekend this year! They will be ETERNALLY GRATEFUL.


All Chrysalis correspondence, donations, walk applications and team applications should be mailed to:  Chrysalis Registrar P.O. Box 491918, Leesburg Florida 34749-191.  Our South Lake Chrysalis representative is Christine King. 

 

These teens and teams need our support in the form of agape, letters, and attendance at candlelight and at closings.  The Chrysalis board is also looking for individuals, communities and groups who would like to donate for scholarships.

We would like to send well wishes and God’s blessings to Jay & Stacey Etheridge and Joe & Susan Van Metre, both couples recently moved out of the area.

 

The Aldersgate newsletter has a whole new look and format. Please go to www.aldersgateemmaus.org and check it out. You will find a wealth of info regarding schedules, application forms, the calendar of upcoming walks and other information about the Aldersgate Emmaus Community and Chrysalis.  You may also sign up for the prayer clock on the website.    There are lots of slots to be filled! Also look for an e-mail from our Prayer Clock coordinator, Amanda, to fill in the slots that have been assigned to our area. Check out the South Lake Emmaus web page for news and links.
